In honour of the rain

It cleansed the dark dirt
That dug into my life
It allowed me to swim in splendor
Of new beginnings
No longer caught crouching in pain
No dwelling on unmistaken misery
Mocking my very essence.

The sun shone on my sins past
The glow illuminating right to my smile
Vaguely do I recall the pain, anger
Betrayal, poverty, strife of life
Barely visible are my has beens.

In honour of the rain
I lift my glass of champagne
Saluting a new beginning
Growth of beauty
In nourished, fertile soil
In rain that came
In rain that left
With my every dilemma
My every worry.
