From this morning till dawn

Your shadow walked with me
A reminder of who I belonged to
My thoughts plagued by your presence
From morning till dawn you are near.

Constantly touching without handling
Hurting me without a thought of mercy
Lurking in the light
From morning till dawn you torture me.

Not a word you utter
Not a hand you raised
A smile plastered on your face
From morning till dawn I don’t need a reminder.

I slept knowing that you haunt me
I tossed and turned with fear
Writhing, running away
From this morning till dawn I could not evade you

You draw me near
With your evil haunting charm
I can’t resist
Your easy go lucky saunter
Enthralls me
This morning to dawn I fear what shall
And forever will be.
